What’s happening next year at TMAG?

October 5th, 2011

The Town Mill Trustees (TMT) have asked TMAG to come up with a bid for next year. There was a TMT meeting on 14th October at which our proposal, together with others, was discussed, and a decision made about who should run the galleries in 2012. As a result, TMAG has been offered the chance to run both galleries for 2 years starting in January.

There will be an Extraordinary General Meeting at the Malthouse on 1stNovember at 7:30pm. This is mainly to discuss the future of TMAG in the light of the Trustees’ decision.

If you don’t attend, you won’t have a chance to influence how we operate in future: so please make every effort.

If you are a prospective or past member who might be interested in (re)joining, please come along. If you can RSVP for numbers, that would be helpful, by responding to info@townmillartsguild.com.

EGM Agenda:

  1. Chairman’s welcome
  2. Resolution: that the constitution of TMAG be revised to state that the AGM be held in September every year. (Reason: the audited accounts will then be available for discussion, and the AGM year will be aligned with the natural membership year: when exhibition slots are advertised. Practical arrangements will be made to change membership start dates if the resolution is passed, and the next AGM will be September 2012.)
  3. Resolution: if the above item is passed, that an election for the Committee for the next 11 months be held. (Followed by election, if passed. Nominations can be made at the meeting, or if nominees are unable to be present, please indicate your willingness to be (re)elected.)
  4. Members Q&A about the arrangements for next year. (Bring your comments and suggestions, worries and questions about practical arrangements fornext year.)

After the meeting, there will be an opportunity for members to put in bids for their preferred exhibition slots, see suggested layouts for the gallery space, pay subscriptions for 2011/12, and catch up with other members over refreshments.
